Please reach us at dubheadskennelsandcattery@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes!
We actively encourage you to come and meet us and bring your dog for a sniff around the paddocks before making your first booking.
We welcome viewings Tuesdays to Saturdays between 11am and 3pm.
*Please note Friday and Saturday mornings between 10am and 12pm are often quite busy with drop offs and collections.
Please remember to bring your pets vaccination cards.
We can provide food for your pets, this will be at an extra cost. We find that most pets are happier on their own regular diet.
We will provide a bed and vet bed for their comfort but we do recommend packing something small that smells like home such as an old t-shirt or towel especially for a first stay or anxious dogs.
We provide food and water bowls, cat litter trays and have a limited number of slow feeders on site.
We are happy to administer medications as per your vets instructions.
A morning jaunt according to your dogs fitness levels around the secure paddocks, followed by breakfast in their rooms.
Some relaxation time.
A secondary walk in the later afternoon/ early evening followed by dinner and desert of some treats or a stuffed kong.
You can drop your pets any time between 10am and 4pm daily. Special arrangements can be made for out of hours collection or drop off but we try to keep disruption to a minimum for our guests and our neighbours so advanced arrangement is required. If you do require special arrangements it must be confirmed in writing prior to your booking.
We are licensed to take a maximum of two dogs per kennel irrespective of size.
All dogs are walked individually unless they are boarding together or are from the same household. We do not socialise dogs from separate households.
If your pet becomes unwell during their stay we will work with our local vets and liaise with your own vets where necessary.
We may ask for a small deposit during busy seasons to secure bookings but generally we do not request a deposit.
We do not take provisional bookings. If you need to check availability before booking your holiday then please let us know and we will agree a timescale to hold the dates for you if possible.
We confirm all bookings by email. If you haven't received a confirmation email please check your spam box and if not there please contact us immediately.
Where possible we will honor requests to put your dogs into a quiet kennel. We can not guarantee this as we will always prioritize the welfare of our guests so if we deem another pet will be better suited to a quiet area we will allocate it to them. Also if we find your pet to be too disruptive to other guests needing a quieter space we will relocate them to the main block.
We have diffusers of kennel calm and will provide mental stimulation to each guest to ensure they enjoy their stay as much as possible.
We would love to accommodate every request we get for the quiet kennels and we look at every request as we allocate kennels but inevitability it’s not always possible and some customers may be disappointed. However, it may not always be possible for various reasons, i.e., there may already other dogs in occupancy before your dog’s arrival and your dog may be placed elsewhere while we wait for space to become available.
Our first and foremost priority is always the needs of ALL the dogs in our care. We work with the dogs every day and are constantly assessing their needs and wellbeing. If we feel that a dog needs to be moved to a different part of the kennel for its wellbeing or the wellbeing of the dogs around it then we will move that dog.
There are numerous reasons why we might need to move a dog, e.g., a dog that is unwell, very small, elderly or stressed to name but a few. We do not make this decision lightly but it might be your dog that has to be moved into the main kennel. If this happens then we will ensure your dog is moved back into the quiet kennels at the first possible opportunity. We will also constantly monitor how your dog is coping with the different environment.
Thank you for your booking and understanding. We always endeavour to accommodate requests for the quiet kennels. Please be assured, your dog will still get the same level of love and attention regardless of where it is placed in the building.
